What is ‘The Artists' Corner’?
I originally conceived of Valkyrie Crafted Libations many years ago, when my spectacular bride, the Amazing BL Peterman and I attended a Saturday afternoon matinée of Richard Wagner’s “Die Walkure” at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. At roughly the midpoint in the Opera, I began musing on the notion of Sacred Mead. I began pondering the possibilities; which shortly thereafter resulted in our team beginning work on what would eventually become Valkyrie Crafted Libations (VCL’s) suite of premium Mead-inspired, fortified wines and Estate Wine products.
My ‘Professional 30-year Vocation’ was in Wall Street Finance, notably Institutional Research & Derivative Sales and Investment Banking. I covered the US Midwest Sales Territory for several prominent boutique investment banks, operating out ofoffices at 40 Wall Street NYC, 176 West Jackson Street in Chicago and 1000 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. I got to know the airline flight crews, the TSA folks, Hotel staffs, hundreds of public and private company management teams and private limo drivers all too well...Yet, and dating back to my High School Years, my Avocation, and perhaps my truer love, was always Music, Creative Writing and the Arts.
With the advent of Valkyrie Crafted Libations (VCL), we began pondering how to integrate Music and Art into our VCL Concept. The result: we have incorporated a music space within our ‘Tasting Lodge’ format, specifically for live music. We hopeto bring original musicians and artists together, in a format reminiscent of an intimate 1930’s Paris, Vienna or Budapest salon. With ‘The Artist’s Corner,’ we’ll also seek to build and foster a community of like-minded creative savants, offering a platform with which to possibly present each artist’s various ‘crafts’, while hopefully encouraging people to network and work together, with the ultimate goal of collectively nourishing the creative life forces of all involved.
It’s an experiment, and we’re more than willing to give it a go. Michealangelo, DaVinci, Ferrari, Beethoven, Lynard Skynard, ELP, Tolkien & Lewis, Caroll Shelby and Ken Miles, Dante and Oliver Wilde, Mel Torme, Merle Haggard or Gustave Dore. No matter; art is art.
