Geistwein: The Concept
Geistwein is Valkyrie Crafted Libation’s (VCL’s) proprietary term describing VCL’s unique portfolio of hand crafted and fortified wines. Geistwein implies “Spirit Wine” (in German) and is a reference to both the unique process and custom distilled brandy used to produce Geistwein, as well as the mystical innuendo associated with mythic Norse culture. VCL pledges its commitment to offer a crafted libation experience like no other.
Edeleiche and Reinlich
Valkyrie Crafted Libations (VCL) uses two proprietary descriptors, individual terms denoting “Oaked” vs. “Unoaked” versions of VCL’s Original Geistwein. “Edeleiche” implies “Regal Oak,” which describes VCL’s proprietary Oaking Process. This process subtly but distinctly imbues Geistwein with a more robust mouth feel, attenuates mid palate body, and overall provides balance, central to Geistwein’s flavor profile; which also provides enhanced complexity. The term “Reinlich” implies “Pure Light,” denoting VCL’s “Unoaked” version of Geistwein. These two product descriptors are critical differentiators with which to further identify and define Valkyrie Crafted Libation’s unique hand-crafted Geistwein.
Dragonsblut
Valkyrie Dragonsblut™ was inspired by old Norse tales of Sigurd’s epic quest: “Sigurd then slew the mighty dragon Fafnir. Victoriously sheathing his now sanguine blade, Sigurd fortuitously raised a bloody finger to his lips. Tasting the dragon’s mystical blood, Sigurd was transfigured, and instantly achieved enlightenment.
