“Geistwein”(https://www.geistwein.com/products) translates as “Spirit Wine” and is Valkyrie Crafted Libation’s proprietary term denoting a double entendre: it refers to both VCL’s unique process of blending custom-distilled brandy and spices with premium wine to produce VCL’s portfolio of exceptional libations. The Term also pays homage to mythic tradition and innuendo associated with mystic Norse tradition and Viking Lore. Technically, Geistwein is all about Structure. Whereas traditional fortified wines (aka ‘Port’ or ‘‘Dessert’’ wines) tend to be heavier on the tongue and at time thick on the mid-palate, VCL Geistwein has been purposely constructed to have a leaner, cleaner and overall exceptional mouth feel. Traditional fortified wines can also lead to a circumstance we’ve termed ‘palate fatigue,’ a situation where the higher residual sugar content can overburden the palate - vs. Geistwein: it’s crisp, clean and intentionally designed to be easier and more inviting to the palate. Valkyrie Crafted Libation’s Premium Geistwein is best served in a traditional brandy snifter at room temperature. Pouring approximately three (3) ounces of Geistwein into the snifter, begin swirling the glass, allowing ample time for the custom-distilled brandy spirits to fully emerge.
